1,300 Child Sexual Abuse Cases Reported In Pakistan within 6 Months

There have been more than 1,300 child sexual abuse cases in Pakistan between January and June this year. This has been revealed in a report. According to The News International’s Saturday report, the report compiled by the non-governmental organization (NGO) Sahil said that 729 girls and 575 boys faced some form of sexual harassment during this period. The report revealed that 652 cases have been reported in Punjab, 458 in Sindh, 32 in Balochistan, while 51 cases have been reported in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Meanwhile, cases of sexual assault with young children are 90 in Islamabad, 18 in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir and three in Gilgit-Baltistan.

The report further states that only 50 children became victims of sexual assault in Lahore. It was also revealed that 12 minor girls and boys became victims of sexual harassment in madrasas. The report comes after the remains of three of the four children missing from Chunyan area of ​​Kasur were found on Tuesday. Police said the three victims were raped before being buried.  Kasur police said that the bodies of only one of the four missing children have been recovered, while the remains of the other two have been found, which will be sent for DNA testing. Another child was kidnapped Thursday night from the same city.
