S.K. Jaishankar, Foreign Minister of India has criticized the American media, saying that the Liberal media that spoke in English is discriminating India on the issue of Kashmir. Jaishankar stated that due to the prejudiced attitude of the American media, India is facing difficulties in clarifying its side on Article 370.
Addressing the US-India Leadership Program organized by the Strategic Partnership Forum between US-India, External Affairs Minister Jaishankar stated that India wants to convey the stand to the lawmakers in the US on its decision related to Article 370 but the task is getting difficult for doing so due to the prejudiced attitude of the media of US. Jaishankar has used the term “English-speaking so-called liberal media” for the American media.
In recent times the English newspaper like the New York Times has criticized India’s policies regarding the Kashmir issue unnecessarily. The number of US newspapers have accused the Indian authorities of crushing the human rights in the state of Jammu and Kashmir, but India has strongly denied these allegations.
