London court rejected the bail plea of fugitive diamond trader Nirav Modi wanted in India for the Rs 13,500 crore fraud case involving the PNB. Westminster Magistrates Court Emma Arbuthnot stated Nirav was likely to run away if granted bail, so bail cannot be granted.
Earlier, Nirav Modi had pleaded for bail saying he was suffering from restlessness and depression. Nirav Modi had filed a bail plea in a London court against his continued custody and pleaded to be detained at home, which the court rejected. Now Nirav will appear in the court through video conferencing on December 4 as part of the next hearing.
