After successful testing of the Agni-II missile from India, on Monday Pakistan successfully test-fired Shaheen-1 the surface-to-surface ballistic missile (SSBM). According to a report by The News International, spokesman of military Major General Asif Ghafoor on Monday shared a video of the missile test. The Pakistani general stated that the SSBM has the ability to carry every type of nuclear weapon and has a range of 650 km.
Earlier in August, Pakistan had successfully tested SSBM Ghaznavi. According to Asif Gafoor, “The purpose of this launch is to examine the strategic preparedness of the Army Strategic Forces Command (ASFC), to ensure reliable minimum security of Pakistan”.
According to the Dawn News, Commander Army Strategic Forces Command, Director General Strategic Plans Division, NESCOM Chairman, Army Strategic Forces Command, Scientist, Senior Officers of Strategic Plans Division, and Engineer were present at the testing.
